- What are the art
due dates?
Art due dates are the dates that your information
and listing of circular items by page are due to
Arett. We have established these art dates to coincide
with our scheduled printing dates and your sale dates
allowing for design time, proofreading, shipping
and distribution. Click on the program to see specific
deadlines.
- How much will the advertising cost me?
The cost to create, print and distribute a circular
depends on the quantity, size, and color of your
circular and the type of distribution that you are
using? Generally, the more you print the cheaper
it is per piece.
- Do I need to supply the images and the artwork?
It depends. Arett has a vast library of product
and scenic images; however, we may need
your logo if
you are a new customer or we may need a picture
of a specific product that you sell and
we do not carry.
- How quickly can I get
a circular created
and distributed?
Generally it takes at least eight weeks
prior to the sale date to create, print
and distribute a circular.
This is due to the fact that most distribution
houses require that they receive your insert
piece two weeks
prior to the in-home date. We also need
your circular in advance so that we can
create a beautiful ad for
you and provide you with ample time for
proofreading and editing. Please call our
office if you need a
piece created in less than 8 weeks. If
we can get it done, we will do so!
- What is the best way to distribute
a circular?
There are several distribution options
available to you – direct mail, newspapers, weekly handouts,
and marriage mail through ADVO. Contact your Arett
sales person or Arett’s advertising
department for further information.
- What assurance do I have that my competition
is not using the same circular?
We screen all of our customer’s
circular selections and make sure that
the same
piece is not running
with another dealer in the same area
at the same time.
- How many proofs will
I receive as part of the cost?
Two proofs are included in the cost.
Additional proofs requiring next day
air round-trip
will be billed
at $25.00 each.
- How am I billed for advertising services?
Terms net – 10th of the month in
which your sale is running.
- Will
I be taxed on
the advertising
services that I am receiving?
Taxes vary from state to state and
from county to county. New Jersey,
New York
and Connecticut all
tax on advertising services.
- How many
items should I place in my ad?
We suggest that you should only put
8-10 items per page for your circular.
It
is recommended that you
have some “white space” around
each item so that your items don’t
get lost on the page and are easily
noticed
by
your customers.
- What is the difference
between full color and dealer items
in black?
The full color option allows you
to have your items in full color
and the dealer
items in black means
that the artwork for your items will
appear in black while the background
pre-set design
images will appear
in color. We recommend that you choose
the full color option due to its
broad-based appeal and professional
look.
- How much should I spend on advertising?
A good rule of thumb is that you
should reserve 3-5% of your budget
for advertising
expenses.
- How many circulars should I run
per year?
It depends on your needs and budget.
If you are a year round store then
you should
run 2-3 circulars in the spring, one for the fall and one for
the holiday season. It is also recommended
that you
compliment your circular advertising
with a beautifully
designed ad for your local newspaper. The key is to keep your
message
out there with repeated advertising
to your customers.
- What
are Arett standard
fliers
and what are the advantages of doing a standard flier?
A standard Arett flier has preselected basic lawn and garden
merchandise sold by Arett Sales on half of the flier’s
pages. The advantages to using a standard flier are that you
receive a discount on the
products that
are on the
preset pages of the flier and many dealers find that is easier
to work with since half of the circular is already complete with
preset
items.
